Evangelicals Battle Over “Biblical” Immigration

At TIME, Maya Rhodan discusses the division among evangelical Christians over immigration reform as both sides ramp up their rhetoric and lobbying. While many on the Christian right argue against the blind acceptance of foreigners, others, like Sojourners president and founder Jim Wallis, find reason in the Bible to welcome the stranger. “This is a personal issue,” Wallis said. “The undocumented are our brothers and sisters within the church.”
