Gov. Chafee Vetoes Anti-Abortion “Choose Life” License Plate Bill
Philip Marcelo of The Providence Journal reports Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee vetoed legislation that would have allowed a Christian anti-abortion organization to raise money by selling pro-life license plates through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Chafee said the plates, which are available in neighboring Massachusetts and Connecticut, violate the separation of church and state.
