UN Questions Vatican Over Child Abuse Cases

BBC reports that the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child has requested the Vatican to disclose details of thousands of sexual abuse cases involving clergy.  Although both Pope Benedict VXI and Pope Francis have cracked down on abuse within the church, the UNCRC is requesting information on cases since November of 1995.  “The questionnaire seeks to establish whether ‘perpetrators of sexual crimes’ were allowed to remain in contact with children and what legal action was taken against them.”
