The Evolving Immigration Debate: Religion

Beth Summers of PBS writes about the role of religion in the evolving debate over immigration. In recent years, religious communities have had an increasingly large voice in an issue that used to be viewed as simply a political one, a result of a surge of Hispanics in American churches. “Our churches are filled with undocumented individuals,” explained the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. “We may very well be deporting the future of American Christianity.”
