Ben Carson Withdraws as Johns Hopkins Graduation Speaker

Following student concern over his recent controversial comments about gay marriage, Dr. Ben Carson announced on Wednesday that he will no longer be the graduation speaker at Johns Hopkins University, reports Aaron Blake of The Washington Post. In an interview with Fox News, Carson referred to “bestiality and pedophilia” while speaking about gay marriage. In his withdrawal email, Carson wrote, “Someday in the future, it is my hope and prayer that the emphasis on political correctness will decrease and we will start emphasizing rational discussion of differences so we can actually resolve problems and chart a course that is inclusive of everyone.”
