How AIPAC is Losing
At Tablet, Lee Smith of examines how AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee), and pro-Israeli policies in general, have lost influence in Washington. Citing the nomination of Chuck Hagel and recent nuclear advancements in Iran, Smith believes that the Obama administration is more concerned with its own image than actually helping Israel. Smith writes, “Tehran has the upper hand in negotiations because it recognizes that all the White House wants is some sort of deal it can sell as a victory. And the all-powerful pro-Israel lobby has no choice but to swallow it and smile.”
