Religious Leaders Push Congregants on Gun Control, Sensing a Watershed Moment

At The New York Times, Laurie Goodstein looks at religious leaders’ calls for gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy. A group of clergy members, who have long called for stricter gun regulation, plan to campaign in front of the Washington National Cathedral on Friday to mark the moment of last week’s shootings. In a sermon on Sunday, Very Rev. Gary Hall, dean of the Washington National Cathedral, said, “Everyone in this city seems to be in terror of the gun lobby. But I believe the gun lobby is no match for the cross lobby.”
