U.S. Strikes Syria Over Chemical Attack
The New York Times‘ Michael R. Gordon, Helene Cooper, and Michael D. Shear report, “President Trump said Thursday night that the United States had carried out a missile strike in Syria in response to the Syrian government’s chemical weapons attack this week, which killed more than 80 civilians.” They write, “The events of Thursday night marked a dramatic turnabout for Mr. Trump, who until this week had displayed virtually no interest in a deeper role for the United States in the long, bloody conflict.”
