S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A Founder, Dies

Saeed Ahmed of CNN reports that Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy died early Monday morning. Cathy, who was deeply religious, kept the stores closed on Sundays. In recent years, under his son’s leadership, the company has caused controversy for its opposition to gay marriage. “Chick-fil-A’s leadership shares Cathy’s religious beliefs, openly espousing biblical values not only in its operating principles but in its conservative definition of family as well,” Ahmed writes.
