Egypt: Gunmen Open Fire at Coptic Christian Wedding in Cairo

Patrick Kingsley of The Guardian reports on the shooting of at least four Egyptians outside of a Coptic church on Sunday. According to state media, two adults and two girls, aged 8 and 12, are among the dead, and at least 12 others are injured. Some fear that this is the latest in sectarian violence against Copts, who have been scapegoated for the overthrow of former President Morsi. Egypt’s Prime Minister called the shooting “a callous and criminal act” and promised to prosecute those involved.
