Phyllis Schlafly, Towering Social Conservative Figure, Dies at 92

CNN’s Phyllis Schlafly, a prominent anti-feminist and early leader of the social conservative movement, died Monday at the age of 92 at her home in St. Louis.” Schlafly fought the Equal Rights Amendment and “was a towering figure in what emerged as the modern religious right.” She remained politically active until her death, most recently supported presidential candidate Donald Trump.
