Mormons’ Distaste for Donald Trump Puts Utah up for Grabs

In The New York Times, Alan Rappeport writes that Mormon disapproval of Donald Trump may give Hillary Clinton a chance to win in Utah. No Democratic presidential nominee has won in Utah since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964. Rappeport writes, “For a religious group that was driven to Utah during the 19th century in the face of persecution, Mr. Trump’s calls for religious tests and a ban on Muslim migration echo a painful past, leaving some wondering if they will be next.”
