Township Saw a Zoning Issue. The Justice Dept. Saw Religious Discrimination.

In The New York Times, Katie Shepherd writes that the Justice Department ruled last month that Bensalem, Pennsylvania, officials who denied a Muslim congregation’s construction of a mosque violated religious land-use laws. The department has been investigating similar violations since 2010. Shepherd writes, “Since November, the Justice Department has established the ‘Combating Religious Discrimination Today’ campaign and taken part in a series of anti-discrimination efforts to celebrate religious pluralism.”
